This project in North Worcestershire is not far from where I live, we had agreed to help some friends who have about 5 acres and never felt they really got on top of their vegetable growing. So, this is a shared garden and it works well. At the same time as starting to design and plant up this garden, I had just started an online no dig gardening course with Charles Dowding. I met Charles last year, traveling down to invite him to be part of the Malvern Spring Festival. His place in Somerset is very impressive and he certainly is the person who has refined no dig gardening methods.
No dig makes perfect sense to me, working with nature and the natural processes in the soil. Covering the soil up as the most precious asset you have. Less weeding and increased fertility. What’s not to love?
I am also practicing no dig in my own garden at home.
